Hello :) EDIT: with a Video now!EDIT:
I just created a montage of the footage I've taken from both clubs mentioned in this journal. Hope it's helpful.
Hello everyone, how have you been?
I've been too busy clubbing and hiking to come on. Just kidding. Kind of. Between dancing and hiking I've lost 10 pounds without even knowing it.
I don't have a before picture but here's an after one/current.
I know people consider "nightclubs" bad places because the intention is usually to "pick-up" people but my friends and I just go together to dance and leave. So no number exchanges for me, not with that crowd. But the music and dancing is so enjoyable.
Here are some photos of the high-end nightclubs I go to.
What do you like to do socially? Kick-backs like small parties at home with friends or just chilling at the bar or what?
Also, what has everyone been up to? It's been months since I've posted a personal jour

It's been 2 months since I've made any features (or have been active). The 3 features I just made took me literally all night.
I have been inactive because of my full time job/career + (excessive but inarguable) overtime.
This will continue so I will sporadically come on whenever I have time (like this weekend ).
Unfortunately, I still have yet to catch up with deviations.
How has everyone been?
Ideally I don't want a stressful job in the city. I want to get out and live in a lakeside cabin in the mountains and have a herb garden, vegetable garden, and fruit orchard and earn money selling the extra produce. Maybe one day. What are your dreams? (Sensing a theme?) I'd like to hear them.

Ten Portrait Photography TipsPeople & Portrait Photography
Check your Angles
Avoid unflattering angles, don't frame your model with their arms or legs chopped off unless it works for the image. If in doubt, fully frame them and do the chopping afterwards in post-processing! Don't forget to check that the tops of their heads and their feet are in focus. Missing feet are disconcerting!
Be the Director
As the Photographer, most people will be looking to you for direction. There's no time to be shy when you're behind the camera! Keep calm to help your model remain relaxed but make sure they're not made to feel awkward if you lack giving instruction. Pose them well, avoid direct bright sunlight and check out your background.
Eye contact...or not
Eye contact isn't always necessary, in fact candid journalistic style photographs often work best. Your subject doesn't have to be looking directly at the camera for it to be a successful shoot, but yo
Lighting in Portrait PhotographyPeople and Portraits week
I'm writing this tutorial of sorts, for all of you portrait photographers out there seeking advice about the lighting in your photographs. First off let me be clear in saying that I am no expert, or rather I do not claim to be, I sometimes do things in unusual ways, and my tips and advice are definitely not the only ones you should follow. This journal is just me giving you my take on how to get great lighting for your shots
1. Never shoot when the sun is at its highest peak.
Depending on where you live and your climate, this might vary, but I usually never shoot between the hours of 12-4 unless I'm shooting indoors, or it's a cloudy day. If you're doing an outdoors shoot and the sun is blasting on your model, you are very unlikely to get good results. Not only will it be uncomfortable for your model, and make it difficult to pose with a natural expression (sun in your eyes, worst feeling in the world),

Photographing People on your TravelsPeople & Portrait Photography
Trying to photograph people within a country other than the one you are accustomed to can bring a whole new set of difficulties far beyond lighting, composition and frame. Here are a few tips that I've personally learned along the way which have not only inspired me to get out there and photograph more people, but also to approach new people and become more confident..
It's very important that you learn the customs of a country so as not to offend anybody when attempting to take or request their photograph. There are often many street entertainers in big cities and musicians that busk and request the odd coin or two. Don't make the mistake I did in Belgium, and request a photograph of a street performer and expect to give nothing in return! Putting a few coins of local currency their way will always be welcomed. Equally it's important to know when it's okay to take photographs, and when not. There were particu

Portraits: I |
Nine TimesI saw him nine times.
The first time we were both sitting in the room together, getting ready to take the math test that would determine our placement. I was scatterbrained and throwing things around, trying to find the pencils that I had known I would need but had still just tossed in my purse. He was lounging backwards in his chair, looking for all the world as though he didn’t have a single care in the world, including the upcoming test. It annoyed me, that I was frantic and ready to scream, while someone else could be that relaxed.
I tested out of the class.
I don’t know if he did.
The second time I saw him, it was a few months after I arrived on campus. He was the one rushing and frantic this time, running across the square. He was probably late for class, though I had no way of knowing for sure. I was already lost in my own thoughts and ideas, deciding on my major and convincing people that yes, this is what I really want to do with my life. If they weren
