How to Suggest a Daily DeviationSo I've come across multiple polls asking, "Have you ever suggested a Daily Deviation?" Sadly the most frequently chosen option was, "I don't know how to go about it." Not yes, not no: the uncertainty of the process.
I will make this as easy as possible.
1. Go here, and note one of the Community Volunteers in charge of the category of art you're suggesting. If you'd like you can also favorite this journal for reference.
The note should be as such:
:thumbxxxxxxx: (found to the right of the deviation, underneath the groups).
A reason why (is preferable but not necessary).
The deviant being suggested should not have had a Daily Deviation in the past 6 months (check this by going to the deviant's page and typing /dds after it) if they have none then you have no mat

These options are perfect for those who may want to post the same message to their personal Journal and one or more of their Groups.

Seniority Announcement - December 2011This article marks the latest announcements detailing the latest additions to the dizzy height of Senior members in our community. With just over 800 deviants holding the highly saught after ` -- it's clearly a moment that deserves recognition.
So what does it take to become a Senior? That's a question many have asked and have never really been able to get a straight answer on. Some have gained Seniority as a thank you for their time spent as a Volunteer, or to recognise their contribution to a particular project or collaborative action. Some have gained Seniority because of their community spirit, providing help and assistance to many other deviants and taking time out to promote the work of others in the community.
Some people have received Seniority because of their artistic endevours, having a positive influence on their peers by sharing resources, providing constructive criticism and by being a voice that stands out above the many others who deviate to be recognised

A multi-colored phoenix drawn for me. (Why not?) Awesome concept, don't you think?
I'm a music lover, so of course this caught my attention right away!
Aren't the hues just absolutely stunning?! And Natan-Estivallet is a natural at painting!
The action, speed, and powess is evident and very nicely captured.
This I have to say is BEAUTIFUL!
Accurate and very nicely done.
Simple, clean, and amazing.
Colored pencils? Amazing!

Our Favorite Memories and Moments Tweet
As part of our week long celebration of appreciation and love for our community, I had the pleasure of interviewing some of our Staff to find out what their favourite moments and memories of the community are, their favourite deviations and what they like best about the wonderful deviantART community.
What We Love About dA
Angelo, Co-Founder and CEO
I can't pick just one, because I love dearly so many moments in the history of deviantART. But as I read the question, the first one that came to my mind was eating Vegemite for the first time with Justin Maller (+ekud) wh

Need Input for Message Center RevampIn the deviantWATCH, we would like to switch to Feeds vs. Messages you have to "X" away one by one.
Now, I could use a wide net of input for message center revamp, but really I'd like to start with a narrow view of just deviantWATCH.
The deviantWATCH lives within Messages, which contains within it Feedback, Notices, etc. as well. deviantWATCH messages come in like crazy in your message center once you are watching 20+ people. And of the folks reading my Journal, I know you guys tend to have over 100+ people that you +WATCH.
Help me understand something. Because if we go off and make changes, we're going to have a riot on our hands. And no one needs that kind of sadness in their lives:
Why can't we switch to feeds?
Feeds would effectively index YOUR deviantWATCH in to deviantART's search engine, so your deviantWATCH Deviations would have all of the filters and capabilities of the home page. Categories, Newest, Most Popular 24 hours, 1 week, 1 month, etc. BUT a

a dangerous hallucinationThe light coming through the window was bright,
much too bright.
Even though my eyes were closed
I could see it-
The skin of my arms prickled,
sweat dripped from my brow.
It was two in the afternoon but…
the sun was setting
through the window facing east.
I should have seen the hutch,
shelves lined with bone china
decorated with delicate leaves and vines.
I was so thirsty
and reaching for cups that should have been there.
Instead I found a billboard of butterflies,
the colors raging
more than any rainbow
I'd ever seen.
Their wings fluttered and flashed
yet somehow they moved in slow motion.
I wanted to stand,
wanted to reach out and touch them but…
I couldn't move,
and yet I laughed
ignoring my dry mouth
and the tingling in my feet.
There was a tempest
on the rise
and in my blood.
A sugar rush disguised
as a riot of butterflies
and they were swarming me.
There was a small vial
of insulin in my pocket
that I nev
